The Jewish Community Endowment Fund (JCEF) of the San Francisco-based Jewish Community Federation administers a wide range of scholarship funds to make Jewish learning experiences affordable for children, teens and young adults who reside in the Federation Service Area (FSA) (San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma and the Peninsula down through Sunnyvale).

If you have questions about your current application or a previous scholarship,, please contact BJE Financial Aid Director, Janet Rothman, 415.751.6983 x 107. The following JCEF-funded scholarships are awarded directly by individual schools and camps within the Federation service area. For more information, please contact your school or camp:

  • Jewish preschools
  • Jewish day schools
  • Summer and Winter Jewish day camps
  • Jewish overnight camps (Newman and Tawonga)

For more information on the following JCEF scholarship programs, please contact Judy Bloom, Development Officer/Director of Imprint Giving at JCEF, 415.512-6263.
  • Jewish overnight camps other than Newman and Tawonga, throughout the U.S., Canada and Israel (not currently accepting applications)
  • College (not currently accepting applications)
  • Family specialty camps
  • First-time teen trips to Israel
