How can I obtain an application?
A scholarship is only a click away...(but we recommend reviewing the criteria below first)
Who qualifies for a scholarship?
Children between the ages of 6 and 18.
Which camps qualify?
Any Jewish camp in the United States, Canada or Israel.

Are there residency criteria?
Yes. You must live in the greater SF Bay Area - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Solano, or Sonoma Counties.
What costs are covered?
Tuition and camp-provided bus transportation, to and from camp.
When is the Jewish overnight application deadline?
By no later than April 1, 2009, the two sections of the on-line application must be submitted and the 2009 federal tax return delivered to the BJE.
Can I apply for a scholarship for multiple camp sessions?
Yes, up to two sessions. Please submit only one application per camper.
How do you decide who gets a scholarship?
The Summer Residential Camps Scholarship Committee of the Jewish Community Federation makes the final decision based on pre-established selection criteria.
When will I know whether my child has received a scholarship?
Both you and the camp will be notified by mail mid-May.
What makes the application complete?
- A complete on-line web application.
- A signed copy of the 2009 federal tax return with all schedules & W2's exactly as filed with the IRS.
- If you do not file a tax return, submit all official documents from: Cal Works, Food stamps, Social security, Workman's comp, VA benefits, loans and other income for 2009.

How can I obtain a Jewish day camp application?
Your camp is the gateway to community funding and will provide the application. Email the day camp administrator for information.

Who qualifies for a scholarship?
Children ages 3-15, who will receive financial assistance from the day camp.
Are there residency criteria?
Yes. Children whose parents' permanent residence is in the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation area of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and North), Marin and
Sonoma Counties are welcome to apply.
What costs are covered?
Tuition and camp care, before and after the day session.
Please note: camp-provided bus transportation is not covered, unless included in part of camp cost.
When is the application deadline?
Application must be submitted to the day camp no later than April 1, 2010 or check the local day camp you will attend.
