How can my child get a scholarship to attend a preschool?
The gateway to all community-funded financial aid is through your preschool's financial aid department.
Are community funds available?
Yes. Community funds are available through the Jewish Community Federation Preschool Scholarship Fund (JCFPSF) of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund, with the generous support of the Education Emergency Grant from the Jim Joseph Foundation.
However, you may only apply through your school.
Are there residency criteria?
Yes. Children whose parents' permanent residence is in the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation area of San Francisco, the Peninsula (Sunnyvale and North), Marin and Sonoma Counties are welcome to apply. Additionally, children whose parents' permanent residence is in the Greater East Bay and Silicon Valley Jewish Community Federation areas are welcome to apply for funds provided through the Jim Joseph Foundation Education Emergency Grant.
Which Jewish preschools qualify to receive community funds?
The following schools are pre-qualified for funding in academic year 2010-2011:

How does the JCFPSF complement existing financial assistance provided by individual preschools?
The Fund serves as a last resort resource for families whose needs are dire and for whom additional funds would enable enrollment or continuation at a Jewish pre- school. To be considered for community funding, the family must apply directly to the eligible preschool.
