Sweet Elephant Dreams
For children ages 3 - 6
Do Re Mooo
For children ages 5 - 8
Sweet Elephant Dreams by Sagit Emet
Read and performed by Israeli actress and author Sagit Emet.
Yuval loves elephants! He has elephant pictures, elephant dolls, elephant t-shirts, and even an elephant toothbrush. But that isn't enough - he wants a real elephant. His father tells him this is not possible. But that night, when everyone is asleep, an elephant comes to his room and takes him and his brother on a magical tour.
This is a story about love, dreams, and the power of imagination. Sagit Emet will engage children in talking about their dreams, the things they wish for and why, and what they do when they hear adults say, "you can't have."
Do Re Mooo by Shirley Yuval
Read and performed by Israeli author, musician, and psychologist Shirley Yuval.
One spring morning, the cows gather to celebrate Paraleh's bat mitzvah. They plan to sing the traditional moo anthem, but something goes terribly wrong. Instead of singing with everyone else, Paraleh makes up her own unique song. How does the herd react, and what will happen to Paraleh?
Shirley Yuval tells the story of Paraleh with a combination of puppets and a guitar, songs and sounds. She will also describe how she developed the story and discuss its main theme - the difficulty of wanting to fit in and belong while also staying true to one's unique self.
