ABOUT THE ANNUAL CELEBRATION AND NESS
Join us are we shine a spotlight on NESS, the five participating synagogues and their pioneering volunteers.
At 5 Bay Area synagogues BJE's NESS program is transforming religious school education. Synagogue school directors, educators, clergy, families and lay leaders deconstructed their programs, and together with BJEs guidance built unique religious schools. Each school's curriculum incorporates their synagogue's core values and missions, igniting a continuous, shared conversation throughout the synagogue community.
"NESS is about children. But also about forging connections between adults. About the power of volunteers. Parents. Teachers. Staff. Congregants. Clergy."
NESS is a project of the Bureau of Jewish Education, modeled on a program created by the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education in Philadelphia, and made possible through the generous support of The Jewish Community Endowment Fund, the Annual Campaign of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, the Koret Foundation and PELIE.
